What is Prolapse –

Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a common problem, affecting almost 50% of parous women to some degree. Before Sabrina there were only two solutions available: supporting pessaries and surgical methods, both of which have been associated with problems and high levels of adverse effects. Sabrina is an innovative and unique non-invasive, non - ablative Solid State diode laser alternative for the treatment of POP. It utilizes the gentle, non -ablative photothermal effects of 1470 nm diode laser to tighten the tissue and contract the vaginal canal. Preliminary clinical studies show that it is an efficient, easy-to-perform and safe procedure.

How does Sabrina work to restore prolapse uterus?

The Sabrina treatment is based on precisely controlled laser-induced photothermal effects of 1470 nm Solid State Diode laser in mucosa tissue, stimulating collagen remodelling and the regeneration of new collagen fibers. The result of collagen neogenesis and remodelling is shrinkage and tightening of the vaginal canal without removal of any tissue.

The Sabrina protocol includes

  • Circular (360°) irradiation of the whole vaginal canal.
  • Angular irradiation of the prolapsed side of the vaginal wall.
  • Irradiation of the vestibule region and prolapsed vaginal wall.
  • Usually, patients will require more than one treatment session (up to four).

Unique advantages of Sabrina for your patients:

With Sabrina the overall impact and burden on the patient’s organism is minimal, as opposed to more invasive classical surgical procedures. No special pre-op preparation or post-op precautions are necessary. Patients can immediately return to their normal everyday activities. Additional advantages of Sabrina are that the procedure is incisionless and virtually painless, with no cutting, bleeding or sutures.
